Overnight Oats

I have seen these recipes flying around (not literally) for a while so I decided I ought to give them a try and I have to say I am hooked.

So easy to make and you can tailor it to your own taste.

Overnight Oats

Basic recipe:

1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1/4 cup oats
1/3 cup milk

To make it super healthy you can add 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds or ground flax seeds

Then just add your own flavours such as:

2 teaspoons cocoa powder
1/2 a banana sliced

or

1 tablespoon stewed apple
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

or

1 teaspoon peanut butter
1/3 cup blueberries

or

1/3 cup strawberries, chopped
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

You could even substitute the milk for a fruit juice of your choice.

The possibilities are endless!

Just mix all your ingredients together and pop into a jar with a lid (clean jam jar for instance) and store in the fridge overnight, most of the recipes keep for a couple of days.

They even make very nice mid week desserts as well as for breakfast.
