Porridge any Witch way...

My breakfast of choice when I am at home is porridge (obviously if I am in a swishy hotel I go for the full English...) but it does get a bit boring so I have been trying different flavours...here are some of my favourites so far:

Porridge any Witch way...

1/2 cup porridge oats
1 cup milk - this can be cow's milk, soya, almond or any alternative of your choice, I am currently favouring almond milk

Place them in a saucepan and simmer over a low heat for a couple of minutes, it doesn't take long.

If you are using spices or flavourings add them before you heat.

Banana, blueberry & coconut
After your porridge is cooked add sliced banana, fresh blueberries and a dessert spoonful of shredded coconut.

Spiced apple
Add 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, a pinch of ground cloves and a dash of ground nutmeg to your porridge mix as you cook it.  Once the porridge is cooked grate an eating apple on top.

Spiced trail mix
Add 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract to your porridge mix as it cooks.  Top with a spinkle of trail mix (a mixture of seeds, nuts and dried fruit).

Banana & honey
Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract to your porridge mix as it cooks, top with sliced banana and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.

Blackberry & apple
Cook your porridge and top with a handful of blackberries and grated apple. If you are using frozen blackberries add them as you cook the porridge mixture.

Cocoa loco
Add 1/2 tablespoon cocoa powder to your oats and cook with the milk, you can then top this with a dessert spoonful of shredded coconut and/or sliced banana.

The options are limitless...
